A few layout updates before I get into things: I've removed artist of the month and changed my last.fm widget to display my weekly top artists instead of my overall top artists. Basically, I've combined the two and created much less work for myself. Not that anyone ever cares about my musical input. Anyway...

So, here we are. It's October. I've been at RIT for over a month now. Time flies.

My workload has understandably and expectedly increased recently. We are on a quarter system here, and there is no time to waste. I'm keeping up with everything but just barely. My most difficult class by far is Computer Science I. It is a fast (but reasonably) paced class, and there is a lot of terminology to keep track of in addition to formatting standards and whatnot. If you're lost, it's ok. So am I.

People in my life have had a bad run of luck lately, but I'm hoping it's over. They say bad things come in threes, and I can think of six bad things. My fingers are crossed.

In a related note, many people I know (as well as myself) have been down and almost to the point of being depressed for the past couple of days. A lot of it has to do with the bad things that have happened, but it doesn't help that the sky has been a gray sheet for about a week straight. In any case, I don't like it and I hope it changes soon. Keep us in your prayers and I'll try to return the favor.

The "band" is going well. We practice randomly but frequently, so even though we don't really have scheduled practice time, we do practice. Zack has come up with a couple of cool riffs and chord progressions lately that we've been playing with. I'm eager to work with them until we get complete songs out of them.

I'm running at McQuaid, the first race I missed after my injury last year, with the running club tomorrow. Our race isn't until 5pm, but I'm going early in the morning to watch South Jeff run. I'm excited to see how much they've improved. I've been keeping up with their invitational times via tullyrunners.com and it looks like it is shaping up to be a good year for both teams. So tomorrow should be fun.

Then Sunday we are beginning the design and construction of our costumes for Johnny's Run Like Hell 5k, a race coming up in a few weeks in which groups of six people dress up in costumes with a theme and race. Yes, race in costume. My group is going as Mario characters, so I'm letting my mustache go wild. Well, as wild as my mustache is capable of going.

I guess that's all for now. I hope things are going well for all of you who read this. God bless.
